I wrote music a lot back in the day (a few months ago) and I have now decided to start again. I have to say, this song is a nice "return", if you will. A lot of music I write is the type of music that not just everyone will like, but I am making a change in my music. I'm not saying it will be completely different, but I'm trying to make it so everyone will enjoy it. In this song, you'll hear what is called a breakdown. A breakdown is sort of like a slowed down verse of a song with a nice beat or rhythm to it. You can use any chord to play a breakdown, but I prefer using D (if guitar is tuned to Drop D which is what "I prefer") and A palm muted and open. If you're not familiar with guitars and don't know what I mean by "palm muted" and "open", palm muting is simply placing your palm where the strings begin at the bottom of your guitar, touching the strings you're using for the palm mute. What I mean by "open" is not having any fingers down on any fret.
You will also engage in an enchanting sound given by the string ensembles that I added into here. I love using string ensembles, but I can never get them to work with a lot of songs I make. Only rarely did I get to. A change I am making now is fitting in string ensembles more often, fitting the song and the song's rhythm and tempo.
The drums of course follow the guitar.
And last, but not least, aside from the breakdowns, I will probably had a punk-popish sort of rhythm with the guitar. It's kind of hard to explain exactly what I mean with the guitar without going into strict detail, but you'll understand and be able to hear the punk-popish rhythm I'm speaking of.
Also, if you're wondering, my music also has a christian metal influence. My main influences for the songs I make are from a Christ metalcore band from Dayton, Ohio called the Devil Wears Prada, and my other influence is from a pop/hardcore band called A Day to Remember.
Tell me what you think of my song, An Aftermath. Thank you!!!
